Catherine Jordan is the Construction Industry Federation’s new head of membership

As the new head of membership for the Construction Industry Federation (CIF), I am honoured to embark on this exciting journey in 2025.

My priority is to place our members firmly at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that CIF’s services are not only relevant but impactful and responsive to the evolving needs of Ireland’s construction industry.

Looking back, 2024 marked significant milestones for CIF, including the launch of the CIF Strategy 2024 – 2027.

Central to this strategy is our commitment to promptly addressing member needs and continuously engaging with our diverse membership base.

This approach ensures that CIF’s services remain meaningful and impactful for the construction industry across Ireland.

Over the years, I have been privileged to work with esteemed organisations such as the Institute of Designers in Ireland, the Royal Dublin Society (RDS), and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).

In these roles, I developed and implemented dynamic membership growth, retention, and engagement strategies while designing robust events programmes and communications plans to enhance member value.

Relationship building has always been at the core of my approach, and I am eager to bring this ethos to my role at CIF, working closely with members to understand their challenges and opportunities.

As Head of Membership, my priority is to foster growth, improve retention, and deepen engagement across CIF’s diverse membership base.

Leveraging industry knowledge, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, events, and advocacy initiatives, I aim to ensure that every member can get the most from their CIF membership.

I am particularly excited about meeting and listening to members across Ireland.

Your insights and experiences are invaluable as we develop resources and strategies to address challenges and seize opportunities within the construction industry.

For 2025, I am committed to driving membership growth through outreach and value-driven initiatives, retaining members by addressing their evolving needs and priorities, and fostering engagement through tailored communications and events.

Our 2025 calendar is brimming with opportunities to connect, including regional events, national summits, and networking sessions.

Highlights include International Women’s Day celebrations, the IHBA Summit in April, the Health and Safety Summit in May, the CECA Awards in September, and our flagship CIF Annual Conference.

These events are not just gatherings – they are platforms for collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strengthening the collective voice of our industry. Accessibility and efficiency are key priorities for CIF.

That’s why we’re investing in a digital transformation.

A new website and member portal, set to launch in early 2026, will simplify essential tasks such as event bookings, subscription payments, and accessing resources.

These advancements will empower members with tailored tools and improve communication about industry developments.

Training and development are also central to our efforts. Members can access an extensive range of courses and CPD opportunities at reduced rates.

Our bespoke training programmes are designed to keep members competitive in a rapidly changing industry landscape.

I am fortunate to have joined a fantastic and dedicated team, including Bernardine and Maude, as we work together to engage with members nationwide.

Whether it’s addressing specific challenges or identifying opportunities for collaboration, we are committed to delivering a strong and impactful membership value proposition.

CIF has an ambitious and eventful agenda for 2025, with a clear roadmap for growth, retention, and engagement.

Our team’s efforts will leverage industry insights, CPD opportunities, and advocacy to ensure members benefit fully from CIF’s comprehensive suite of services.

These initiatives reflect our commitment to creating opportunities for networking, knowledge sharing, and collaboration across Ireland’s construction industry.

CIF remains steadfast in its mission for 2025: to place members at the core of our work.

We have an opportunity to build a stronger, more resilient future for Ireland’s construction industry. I look forward to collaborating with each of you as we achieve this vision, together.
