€35,000 raised at inaugural Dearcán Foundation golf classic

by | Oct 6, 2022

The first major Dearcán Foundation fundraiser has taken place in Co. Wicklow. Members of the construction industry took part in the inaugural golf classic at Powerscourt in honour of the late Dave Tracey of John Sisk & Son.

The event was a huge success with €35,000 raised by Sisk staff, stakeholders and supply chain partners. First place went to the  Linesight team, with prizes sponsored by Sisk Group businesses including Vision-Built and Sensori Facilities Management Ltd.

The winning team trophy was designed, commissioned and kindly donated by The Irish Wood and Interiors Network in Dave’s memory.

Starting as an apprentice carpenter and joiner in 1983, Dave progressed to be manager of the John G. Sisk Training Centre. He was an undisputed icon in the construction and wood manufacturing industry, with an incredible knowledge of everything to do with wood and apprenticeships.

Dave was passionate about young people and did everything in his power to ensure that they got the best possible start in life, whether through an apprenticeship, college course or other employment scheme.

It is the vision of the Dearcán Foundation to continue the great work that Dave did for over 30 years with Sisk. A committee has been established made up of Sisk staff, past and present, to identify key partners, organisations and worthy causes for 2022 and beyond.
