Levelling up on health and safety in the latest edition of Construction magazine – out now

by | Oct 10, 2024

The annual health and safety edition of Construction magazine, published in October, provides us with a valuable opportunity to highlight one of the cornerstones of the industry.

This year’s issue is published in conjunction with the CIF’s Construction Safety Campaign, a collaborative effort between the federation and its members to encourage construction contractors to get involved by first identifying and building awareness of key workplace risks, and then developing initiatives to mitigate them.

Running for five days between October 14 and 25, it is an excellent opportunity for the industry to showcase its approach to good practice and worker wellbeing.

We are delighted to feature many of Ireland’s top-tier firms as this year’s campaign sponsors to discover their innovative and leading approach to health and safety.

Keeping everyone safe and well every day is a priority for the entire sector, and great strides have been made in recent decades to ensure the built environment remains injury and death-free.

CIF Director of Safety, Education and Training, Sean Downey shares how learning and knowledge sharing can lead to transformational change for the better. You can read his thoughts on page 17.

We also look at how mental health and wellbeing play a key role within the industry as part of a special feature on page 75, and it is heartening to see that this is also a priority focus area for many of the companies featured in this edition.

We are delighted to see such a high level of engagement with this year’s campaign, proof in itself that dedication to health and safety excellence is being embraced and put into practice across the sector.

Wishing all our readers, sponsors and Construction partners a very safe and healthy October.
