Paul Nicholls from Designer Group has been elected MEBSCA President and M&ECA Vice Chair.
The former Vice President of MEBSCA takes over the role from Eamon McGrattan of CJK, who has stepped down as MEBSCA President and M&ECA Chair. Mark Hodson from Laminar Engineering has been elected as MEBSCA Vice President.
As is tradition, the M&ECA Chair alternates between the ECA and MEBSCA Presidents. As such, Sean Greally from Designer Group was elected M&ECA Chair and re-elected as ECA President.
Joanne Cluxton from Mercury Engineering was also re-elected to the position of ECA Vice President, which is of major significance as this is the first time a woman has held the position.
The new appointments were made at the Joint Electrical Contractors Association (ECA) and Mechanical Engineering & Building Services Contractors Association (MEBSCA) AGM held in January in the CIF’s Construction House.
The AGM for the Mechanical and Electrical Contractors Association (M&ECA) was also held.
Thank you Eamon
The M&ECA and MEBSCA have expressed gratitude to Eamon McGrattan for his dedication to both associations.
Eamon has been a strong voice for the Irish mechanical sector in Ireland and on a European level where he has held the position of President of GCP Europe, the European Mechanical Association, for two years.
He currently holds the position of Immediate Past President. Eamon remains highly involved in GCP Europe initiatives and works tirelessly on behalf of the Irish industry.
During his tenure, Eamon worked to ensure all members of MEBSCA and M&ECA had a voice and to encourage greater member engagement, which works to the strength of the associations.
The M&ECA now looks forward to welcoming Sean Greally from Designer Group as Chair. Sean has been a long-standing member of the ECA and M&ECA. During the past year he has been heavily involved in the running of the associations.
Sean has long been an advocate for fair procurement and tendering practices for all sub-contractors. His knowledge and passion has been, and will continue to be, a great asset to mechanical and electrical contractors.
Following the formalities of both AGMs, M&ECA members were invited to attend the Annual M&ECA Dinner, which took place in FX Buckley Steakhouse in Dublin.
