The March edition of Construction magazine gives us the opportunity to shine a worthy spotlight on women in construction.
We are delighted to publish this special issue in collaboration with the CIF’s annual International Women’s Day (IWD) gathering, an event that has gone from strength to strength and is now a key industry summit where conversations and ideas lead to impactful actions, progression, and change.
An inspiring line-up of speakers on March 6 at The Johnstown Estate in Co. Meath will, once again, showcase how women across the built environment are leading and succeeding in an industry that contributes enormously to society as a whole.
Within this edition, we meet some of these influential voices, including former naval captain turned high-performance leadership coach Marie Gleeson, health and safety expert Niamh McNulty, and diversity champion Laura O’Donovan Calvert.
Each shares a unique career experience and perspective that can add to the bigger thinking around diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
We are also encouraged to see some of the industry’s emerging talent taking part in this year’s summit, which is themed around a narrative of Give to Gain.
Mentorship and knowledge sharing are powerful tools, and they can be transformative when fully embraced.
International Rose of Tralee, Dancing with the Stars performer, and electrical apprentice Katelyn Cummins will take part in this year’s IWD event to highlight pathways and opportunities shaping the next generation. She also shares her lighter look at life on page 82 of the magazine.
Wishing all our readers a very happy International Women’s Day. Discover more about the CIF’s International Women’s Day Summit 2026.
