Building vision for the industry in the latest issue of the CIF Construction magazine – out now

by | Feb 14, 2022

The latest edition of Construction magazine offers a vision for building from the CIF leadership team.

A positive outlook for the construction sector was one of the key findings from the recent CIF Construction Outlook study. A total of 303 companies shared their thoughts and expectations as part of the report, which overall showed encouraging news and is a welcome start to the year.

There is always a flip side to every coin, however. While half of companies reported increases in turnover in Q3 2021 and expect that to continue once Q4 numbers are crunched, 17 per cent saw their year-on-year Q3 turnover contract, with a staggering 94 per cent of companies expressing concerns over significant cost increases of raw materials.

Delivering on infrastructure, housing and Ireland’s climate change ambitions is the industry’s focus. As CIF Director General Tom Parlon says, the construction sector stands ready and willing to help the country to progress both socially and economically in the coming decade.

But, in order to achieve this, there are obstacles to be overcome both legislatively and practically. As our special report shows in the latest issue of Construction magazine both the vison and leadership for this to be achieved lies within the industry, and the CIF stands ready to help navigate the puzzle and deliver in 2022 and beyond.

Solving problems is what the industry does best.
