Prospects ’24: Building a brighter future for housing

Housing workshop Prospects ’24 brought together key players from state and semistate agencies, along with approved housing bodies, to delve into innovative solutions for delivering ‘More Homes for More People’.

The event, which marked its success on its one year anniversary, was held in the Crowne Plaza Hotel on November 29. It served as a pivotal platform for sharing knowledge and fostering a collective commitment to positive change.

The workshop, hosted by the Irish Home Builders Association (IHBA), witnessed an impressive turnout with over 170 delegates in attendance.

The event featured insightful presentations from influential entities, each contributing to the discourse on housing solutions. Among the distinguished speakers were representatives from the Housing Department, The Land Development Agency, The Housing Agency, HBFI, Cluid, First Home Scheme, HomeBond and Fingal County Council.

The presentations delivered by these bodies were not only informative but also shed light on the collective efforts being made to address the pressing issue of housing in our communities.

Minister Darragh O’Brien

The Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government provided a comprehensive overview of government initiatives, while the Land Development Agency shared its strategic approach to land use and development.

The Housing Agency and other contributors presented a range of perspectives and solutions, showcasing the diversity of approaches needed to tackle the housing challenges.

Prospects ’24 was more than just a series of presentations; it served as a dynamic forum for networking and collaboration.
