Welcome to the May edition of Construction magazine. In this very special issue we send a heartfelt and huge congratulations to the Construction Industry Federation on reaching its 90th anniversary this month.
We tip hats to all those who have helped shape the federation over the past nine decades, culminating in the organisation as it stands today.
We salute Director General Hubert Fitzpatrick who has steadfastly led the CIF in continuing to achieve its goals, guided by the strategy of ‘One Federation, One Voice’.
See this month’s issue below for Hubert’s leadership insight into this monumental year and what lies ahead as we stride forwards over the coming decade towards centenary celebrations in 2035.
It is somewhat poetic that the traditional material gifted to mark 90 years is granite or stone, to represent strength and durability.
The CIF fully embodies these attributes, the tangibility of which is seen and experienced by its members through the expertise, support and advocacy it offers in pursuit of a robust and successful construction industry that delivers consistently for Ireland and its people.
The May edition also takes a regional viewpoint on infrastructure and development as we deep dive into projects around the country and
those who are changing the face of the landscape.
We look forward to this month’s Southern Construct Summit, taking place in Cork on May 22, as the CIF builds up to its Annual Conference in September at Croke Park. See www.southernconstruct.ie and www.cifconference.ie for more.
Both events will offer key insights as the industry considers how cohesive strategies aligning with planning, land zoning, procurement processes, and workforce development will help support the acceleration of housing delivery, infrastructure, funding and construction as
a whole.
Congratulations again to all the CIF team and its members.
